DEVELOPING FISH INDUSTRY

 A genetically improved variety of the Rohu fish developed through selective breeding at the Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA), Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with the Institute of Aquaculture Research, Norway has shown much faster growth. The Jayanti Rohu is recording 17 per cent more growth per generation after seven generations of selection.
